Ja Morant has recently shed more light on a mysterious post he made online.
The Memphis Grizzlies standout caught attention last Sunday with a cryptic message on his X page, which simply read “trigger” accompanied by a blue-heart emoji, initially leaving fans and followers puzzled.
This post, given Morant’s history of two suspensions from the NBA for displaying a firearm on social media, sparked controversy and speculation.
However, Morant clarified the situation the following Monday, revealing that the post was in homage to a recently deceased loved one, whom he referred to as “trigger,” a nickname of the person.
In his follow-up post, Morant paid tribute, writing: “rip papa, LLTrigger.”
Despite his challenging year, which included a season-ending shoulder injury just nine games after returning from his latest suspension, the 24-year-old athlete is making efforts to move past these incidents, including a significant recent business move off the court.
