Patrick Mahomes’ wife is weighing in!
Brittany Mahomes, a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model and wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, showed her support for Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark in a recent Instagram Stories post.
Following an incident during a game between the Fever and the Chicago Sky, where Clark was pushed to the ground by an opponent, Brittany posted a message on Sunday, June 2, encouraging Clark to continue her impressive performance.
Brittany, who is also a former soccer player, praised Clark’s impact on women’s sports, writing, “@caitlinclark22 keep doing your thing!! You’re a baller and it’s incredible to see what you’re doing for the game and women’s sports!!”
This show of support coincided with reports from the Associated Press that the WNBA had upgraded the foul by Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter against Clark to a flagrant-1 violation after a review.
Carter had shoulder-checked and hip-checked Clark unprovoked before a play on Saturday, June 1, leading to her fall.
Despite the foul’s escalation in severity, Fox News reported that Carter faced no fines or suspensions.
Clark, who is the all-time scorer in NCAA Division I basketball as of March, commented on the incident after the game, describing it as unexpected but part of the physical nature of basketball. She emphasized her focus on moving forward and executing plays.
Carter declined to comment on the incident or Clark during her post-game interview.
Meanwhile, Indiana coach Christie Sides praised Clark for her composure and resilience under pressure, highlighting her professional handling of the situation despite the officials’ initial reluctance to review the play.
