The Kansas City Chiefs celebrated their consecutive Super Bowl victories at the White House on Friday afternoon, with the entire team present. President Joe Biden recognized their achievements and shared a humorous moment with tight end Travis Kelce.
During his speech, President Biden praised the Chiefs’ success and made a lighthearted comment about their Super Bowl parade.
He joked, “I’d have Travis come up here, but God only knows what he’d say,” before inviting Kelce to the podium.

Kelce, recalling a similar incident from the previous year, humorously addressed the crowd,
“My fellow Americans, it’s nice to see you all again.” He then added, “I’m not gonna lie, President Biden, they told me if I came up here I’d get tased, so I’m gonna go back to my spot,” before shaking Biden’s hand.
After Clark Hunt, the team’s owner, finished his speech, President Biden was handed a Chiefs helmet, which he successfully donned.
It is a long-standing tradition for championship sports teams, both professional and collegiate, to be invited to the White House.
The Chiefs have now won the Super Bowl three times in the past five years.
In 2023, they triumphed over the Philadelphia Eagles, a team favored by First Lady Jill Biden, who grew up near Philadelphia and attended the game. Kansas City also claimed the 2020 Super Bowl title by defeating San Francisco.
Early Friday, the Chiefs posted on social media,
“We’re celebrating our back-to-back championship seasons and victory in Super Bowl LVIII at the White House.”
