This may be Jenny Cavnar’s only year in the booth for the Oakland Athletics, and that’s assuming she makes it the entire season.
Cavnar has been the subject of a ton of criticism in her first season as the A’s play-by-play announcer.
Cavnar is the first female play-by-play announcer in MLB history which is great that the MLB is finally moving in that direction.
However, it has not been received well by fans during the first two months of the season for a variety of reasons.

This most recent blunder isn’t going to win herself any fans as she committed the ultimate sin as a team’s announcer.
Leading 4-3 in the ninth inning over the Tampa Bay Rays, star closer Mason Miller was on the mound for the A’s who hasn’t had many slip-ups at all this season.
However, not even Miller can overcome the dreaded announcer jinx as outfielder Jose Siri, who homered in the second inning already, was at-bat with one out in the bottom of the ninth.
That’s when this happened:
Fans weren’t too pleased (unless they were Rays fans).
It is in fact Siri’s night.
The Rays won the game in extra innings 6-5.
