WNBA star rookie Caitlin Clark has already accomplished a great deal in her career, but what will she pursue off the court?
Over the years, some of the WNBA’s top players have been featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Los Angeles Sparks rookie Cameron Brink has her eyes set on that goal next.
“I think just as a female athlete the body issue is just always like dope,” said Brink. “Just to see how your body like as an athlete, purely as an athlete to appreciate like our bodies are our machines. Like it’s how we make our money so I think that’s always like a really cool concept. Or like Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, like I’ve always loved that. So, I think it’s super empowering. I just did Skims which was actually like a huge… like I manifested that.”
Perhaps Clark will join Brink in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue one day.
Clark has shared some of her top swimsuit photos on social media over the years.

Over time, WNBA stars such as Sue Bird, Skylar Diggins-Smith, and others have been featured in the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Bird reflected on her experience, saying,
“The fact that I’m 41 [and in the Swimsuit issue], it’s kinda cool to be in here. I’ll speak for myself with this shoot—if I appear confident, that took a lot of time. It’s not like I was born with that. It can feel overwhelming to [feel like you have to] climb a mountain in one day, but that’s not what it is. If you can only get 10 minutes in [for a workout], that’s great.”
Bird continued,
“The biggest thing I’ve learned, and this is more recent than you might think—it’s only been probably the last five, six years of my 20-year career—you really have to be kind to yourself… you’re not always going to be perfect. You’re not going to get it right every time, you’re going to make mistakes. It’s when you beat yourself up in those moments that can cause a lot. So, I have really gone out of my way to just be nice to myself, show myself some grace, be kind.”
With Clark’s rising star power and her openness on social media, it’s possible she could join the ranks of WNBA players featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in the future.
