New York Jets fans, take heart: if Aaron Rodgers’ tenure as quarterback doesn’t lead to a Super Bowl win, his keen eye for talent might still contribute to that goal if he ever decides to switch to a general manager role.
Rodgers has expressed high regard for Jets’ second-round pick Malachi Corley, who was the 12th wide receiver selected in the draft, indicating he sees unique potential in Corley that may have been overlooked by other teams.
“[Corley] was my favorite wide receiver in the draft,” Rodgers shared on the New York Jets official podcast. “He might not have been the best on paper, but I felt like his mindset and ferocity would mesh well with what we’re trying to build here.”

Corley had a standout college career at Western Kentucky, earning a spot on the All-Conference USA First Team in both 2022 and 2023. Over his four years, he set a school record with 259 receptions, accumulating 3,033 yards and 29 touchdowns.
The 2024 NFL Draft was rich with talent in the wide receiver category, seeing three pass catchers—Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, and Rome Oduze—go in the top 10 picks.
Following them, six other wide receivers were selected before Corley was taken 65th overall.
Joining a Jets offense that includes dynamic players like wide receiver Garrett Wilson and running back Breece Hall, Corley has a solid chance to make an immediate impact. With such a setup, he could frequently find himself in open spaces, adding a new dimension to the Jets’ offensive strategy.
