Alyssa Lang, a former South Carolina Gamecocks student and current host on the SEC Network, recently found herself at the center of a minor wardrobe controversy during her coverage of the SEC baseball tournament for ESPN’s SEC Network.
Lang wore an orange top that unintentionally matched the team colors of one of the tournament participants, sparking comments on social media about her attire.
A viewer on X, formerly known as Twitter, pointed out Lang’s “interesting color choice,” posting a photo of her in the orange top. Lang responded to the comments, explaining the situation as a simple oversight due to her hectic travel schedule. “Been on the road for two weeks, hastily packed for this event a week ago,” Lang replied. “It’s what was clean!!! I love everyone, I PROMISE.”

In the tournament itself, Tennessee moved ahead with a 7-4 win over Arkansas, while Kentucky eliminated Alabama to advance in the double-elimination bracket, as reported by SECsports.com.
On a personal note, Lang has seen her career aspirations come to fruition. Recalling a high school yearbook prediction made by her best friend that she would one day host “SportsCenter,” Lang indeed achieved this milestone. Earlier this month, she co-anchored the premiere edition of ESPN’s flagship show alongside Michael Eaves.
The broadcast, delivered from ESPN’s headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut, covered a variety of topics including Caitlin Clark’s WNBA preseason debut, collegiate baseball, and the NHL playoffs. This achievement marked a significant milestone in Lang’s career as a studio presenter and reporter.
