2023 was a challenging year for D. J. Moore as he endeavored to establish rapport with Justin Fields.
However, his time with Fields was cut short when the Chicago Bears traded him to the Pittsburgh Steelers after the season. Now, Moore faces the task of developing chemistry with a new quarterback, rookie Caleb Williams, whom the Bears selected with the first overall pick in the 2024 draft from USC.
“Business is business. I seen it coming,” Moore said. “So, at the end of the day, he was the quarterback last year, now we got Caleb. We’re gonna ride through H-E-L-L and back with him, so I’m just looking forward to seeing what he put out.”

Moore, a former first-round pick himself, has navigated numerous challenges throughout his career. After spending the initial five years with a sometimes-struggling Carolina Panthers team, he’s now preparing for his second season in Chicago, determined to leverage his experience.
At 27, Moore is keenly aware of what’s needed to contribute to a winning season and make a deep playoff run. He also recognizes the importance of securing his future, fostering team relationships, and maintaining professionalism.
This commitment is evident as he participates in Organized Team Activities (OTAs), motivated not only by a $200,000 offseason workout bonus but also the necessity to sync with Williams and his teammates.
“Sure, there’s $200 grand on the line. I want to be here and earn that money,” Moore explained. “But beyond the financial incentive, it’s crucial to establish connections with Caleb and everyone else, from Rome Odunze to the entire offensive unit. We all want to strengthen our bonds and build new ones just like last year.”
With a fresh start and a talented rookie quarterback, Moore’s dedication is clear. The upcoming season will reveal how well this commitment translates into on-field success.
