Jaylen Brown, the Boston Celtics forward, wasn’t selected for an All-NBA team this season, but his performance on Thursday suggested otherwise.
Brown propelled the Celtics to a commanding 126-110 victory over the Indiana Pacers, securing a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals.
In the game held at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, Brown electrified the crowd by scoring 40 points, including a crucial three-pointer in the final moments that seemed to seal the game.
When asked during his postgame press conference if his outstanding 40-point game was motivated by the All-NBA omission, Brown dismissed the idea.
“No, I wouldn’t say that,” he said. “I mean, we’re two games from the Finals. So honestly, I don’t have time to F*cking care.”

Brown demonstrated his efficiency by shooting 14 out of 27, including four three-pointers, and added five rebounds and two assists to his stat line.
Although Brown made the All-NBA 2nd-Team last season after achieving career highs in scoring, rebounding, and field goal percentage, his statistics have dipped this season following the Celtics’ offseason acquisitions of former All-Stars Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday.
Nevertheless, Brown is clearly focused on team success over personal accolades. With Thursday’s win, the Celtics are just two victories away from reaching the NBA Finals and six wins from claiming the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
