The individual injured in a reported assault on May 6 at a Dallas nightclub, where Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is allegedly involved, has requested that no charges be filed, according to the Dallas Police Department.
In response to an inquiry about the investigation’s status, the Dallas police stated via email, “The reporting party has signed an affidavit of non-prosecution.
The investigation is ongoing.” No charges have been filed to date in this case, though Rice has been named as a suspect by the Dallas Morning News.
The incident, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. on May 6, resulted in a man being hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, including noticeable swelling on one side of his face, as reported by the Morning News.
Meanwhile, Rice is currently participating in offseason practices with the Chiefs.
Last month, he was arrested for his involvement in a March 30 six-car collision in Dallas, which injured at least seven people. Rice was reportedly driving at 119 mph just before the collision. He faces multiple charges, including one count of aggravated assault, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision involving injury, according to police records.
