Just two months after announcing his retirement in March, Jason Kelce has been a frequent visitor at the Philadelphia Eagles’ facility.
While practicing his golf swing at the Union League Golf Club at Torresdale, Kelce shared with NBC Philadelphia’s John Clark the reasons behind his regular returns.
Kelce, noticeably slimmer this spring, mentioned that he enjoys the camaraderie with his former teammates. “Part of it is that,” he admitted. “Part of it is just getting a free lift down to the NovaCare. I’ve gotten accustomed to going down there. I love it. It keeps me involved.”
His involvement isn’t just social; Kelce is keen on staying connected to the game itself. “Whether it’s being around the guys, the coaches, or keeping my mind in the game by seeing what teams are doing to prepare for the upcoming season, and what the defense is planning. The game is always evolving, and staying knowledgeable means staying involved, staying around the game, and the people in it,” Kelce explained. He humorously noted that his visits allow him to “work and kind of poke my head around a bit.”

Despite retiring after a stellar 13-season career, Kelce remains committed to supporting new players, exemplified by his giving his phone number to Eagles’ rookie center, Dylan McMahon, signaling his willingness to help however he can.
Looking ahead, Kelce is set to join ESPN’s ‘Monday Night Countdown’ team this fall, having signed a multiyear agreement with the network. He’ll also be involved in ESPN’s Super Bowl week coverage. Kelce is stepping in for Robert Griffin III, who shifts to a college football analyst role, while Scott Van Pelt, Marcus Spears, and Ryan Clark round out the team for the ‘Monday Night Football’ pregame show.
The regular-season opener for ‘Monday Night Football’ will feature the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers hosting Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets on September 9.
Recognized as a highly sought-after former player by networks for the upcoming season, Kelce also participated in last year’s NFL Broadcasting and Media Workshop.
Additionally, he plans to continue the ‘New Heights’ podcast with his brother, Travis Kelce, with discussions underway to potentially bring their podcast to Amazon.
