Simone Biles has made it clear she’s fed up with the negative comments about her marriage to NFL player Jonathan Owens.
On May 19th, after Owens supported her at the 2024 Core Hydration Gymnastics Classic in Connecticut, Biles addressed the ongoing online scrutiny in her Instagram Stories. “I’m going to quickly address this, the joke was never a joke! Y’all are blatantly being disrespectful to my relationship & my husband. So I’m gonna go ahead and say this one time. Respectfully, f— off,” Biles expressed forcefully.
She warned that she would block anyone continuing to post negative comments, adding, “And no I don’t need to touch grass or whatever tf y’all suggest….” She also took a moment to thank those who have supported their relationship, saying, “@ everyone else that supports us, we love y’all so much,” accompanied by a hand heart emoji.

Owens also chimed in on his Instagram Stories, criticizing the behavior: “Being fake mad about people y’all don’t know from a can of paint is weirdo behavior.”
This statement followed a series of photos Biles posted on Instagram, showing Owens’ affectionate support during her recent gymnastics victory. “My whole heart ??? the best supporter, I couldn’t ask for a better husband,” she captioned the images.
The couple has been under the microscope, particularly after Owens described himself as “the catch” of their relationship in a December interview on The Pivot podcast. Biles responded to the backlash during her April 16 appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, clarifying that Owens never implied she wasn’t a catch too. “He said he was a catch because he is. I’ve never met a man like him,” Biles explained, highlighting the positive qualities that drew her to Owens.
She shared how the negative comments initially amused her but eventually brought her to tears, underscoring her distress over the harsh criticism directed at her husband. “That really hurt that they were talking about my husband like that. Because for me, it’s like talk about me all you want, but don’t come for my family,” Biles stated firmly.
Biles and Owens were married on April 22, 2023, at the Harris County Courthouse in Houston, and celebrated a second ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They met on the dating app Raya in 2020.
