Mike Tyson remains unimpressed by Jake Paul’s punching power.
Throughout his career, Paul has faced criticism for selecting opponents who are either past their prime or physically smaller than him. On July 20th, he’ll face a new challenge as he goes up against Tyson, who is not only 30 years his senior but also significantly larger than any of Paul’s previous opponents.
Despite the age gap, Tyson is not concerned about the threat of a knockout. He points out Paul’s previous difficulties with knocking out smaller fighters, questioning Paul’s ability to challenge him.
“He couldn’t even knock out Nate Diaz…how’s he gonna knock me out?…What’s the guy Anderson Silva? Those are little guys how’s he gonna knock me out?”
“Who did he knock out? Little children, he’s never knocked out a real man.”
Tensions flared during the press conference when Tyson bristled after being labeled a “gimmick” by a reporter.
The upcoming match will test Paul’s strength against an opponent accustomed to taking on much larger fighters, making it a highly anticipated showdown to see if Paul’s power holds up.
