Bronny James’ imminent leap to the NBA was always going to spark numerous questions, and one of his measurements at the NBA draft combine has added another to the list.
On Monday, James participated in the 2024 NBA Draft Combine at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.
The prospect showcase allowed James to display his impressive vertical leap. The 19-year-old sharpshooter also excelled in various shooting drills, likely boosting his projection as a 3-and-D player at the next level.

James impressed in areas he could control, but there was considerable buzz about something beyond his control — his official height.
James, who had been listed as 6’4? in college, was measured at 6’1.5? without shoes at the combine.
This two-and-a-half-inch difference is significant, even considering the shoe/no-shoe factor.
Few non-point guards find success in the NBA at James’ height. His official measurement places him closer to lead guards like Kyrie Irving (6’1.75? without shoes) and Jalen Brunson (6’1? without shoes) rather than wing defenders like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (6’4.5? without shoes).
Last month, James announced his decision to declare for the 2024 NBA Draft after his lone year at USC. At that time, NBA teams reportedly viewed the move as the teenager testing the waters before possibly returning to school for at least another year.
However, LeBron James’ eldest son now appears determined to make the leap to the pros.
