Bad news for former NFL cornerback Buster Skrine.
Authorities in Canada are currently on the lookout for Skrine who is accused of violating bail conditions related to bank fraud charges.
Reported by The Daily Hive, Skrine had been granted bail on April 9 under specific conditions, including wearing a GPS ankle monitor.
However, he failed to appear for a scheduled court date on Monday, prompting police to announce on social media that his ankle monitor had been disconnected.
Now, Skrine, aged 34, is facing additional charges for his failure to appear in court and non-compliance with a release order.
According to Canadian law enforcement, Skrine stands accused of defrauding banks of more than $100,000 by utilizing fraudulent checks to open accounts and withdraw funds before the checks cleared.
Skrine purportedly identified himself as a “former NFL player” during these transactions.
Initially facing 15 charges, including counts of fraud, making false statements to procure money, and possession of criminally obtained property, Skrine’s current whereabouts remain unknown.
Skrine played in the NFL from 2011 to 2021 for the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, and Tennessee Titans.
