The New York Mets are not pleased after a controversial call ended the game against the Chicago Cubs at Citi Field in New York City on Wednesday night.
Mets star Pete Alonso tagged up from third base and was attempting to tie the game up in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Unfortunately, Alonso was called out and upon review, it was determined that Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya did not block Alonso from reaching home plate.
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza was understandably furious with the ruling.

It certainly appeared that Amaya impeded Alonso from reaching home plate by blocking the plate, and the general consensus is that the game should have at least gone into extra innings tied at 1.
With the loss, the Mets are 15-15 while the Cubs improved to 19-12
