Two years after transferring from the Green Bay Packers, star receiver Davante Adams praised the Las Vegas Raiders for their competitive spirit.
“One thing I’ll say about the Raiders is that the moment I stepped into the building, it was way more competitive than we were in Green Bay,” Adams shared on “The Rush with Maxx Crosby.” “In Green Bay, we had great teams and always found a way to win, but the Raiders bring a different kind of competitive drive. There are more players here who share the same intense mentality as Jaire Alexander.”
Adams, who gained fame during his eight seasons with the Packers, often stood out alongside quarterback Aaron Rodgers. This partnership helped propel Green Bay to regular-season successes and four NFC Championship Game appearances.

Now entering his third season with the Raiders, following a trade in March 2022, Adams remains second in Packers history with 73 receiving touchdowns. He has assumed a pivotal leadership role in Las Vegas, achieving over 1,100 yards and 100 receptions in each of the last three seasons. Last year, he led the Raiders with 103 catches for 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns.
Looking ahead, Adams is optimistic about the potential under new offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, who was previously with the Packers’ coaching staff from 2014-2021. The Raiders, who ranked 23rd in the league last year with an average of 198.8 passing yards per game, are focused on enhancing their offensive strategy.
Adams maintains high standards for the upcoming season. “I don’t set specific expectations, but I do uphold a standard that we must meet,” he stated.
As the Raiders prepare for the new season with several returning players and a record of 8-9 last year, they also welcome fresh talent, including Gardner Minshew, Christian Wilkins, and first-round pick Brock Bowers, under the guidance of head coach Antonio Pierce in his first full season.
