Caitlin Clark, the former Iowa Hawkeyes standout, continues to make waves in the women’s basketball scene both on and off the court.
After leading her team to consecutive national championship games and setting a plethora of records, including the all-time Division I scoring record, Clark was selected as the No. 1 pick by the Indiana Fever earlier this month. Although her team fell short of the title, Clark’s collegiate career solidified her legacy as one of the greatest in women’s basketball history.
Off the court, Clark’s influence is just as significant. Today, her first professional trading card was released and sold out within seconds for an impressive $10,000. The sale was reported by the sports memorabilia channel cllct, which noted, “Caitlin Clark’s first professional card just sold within seconds of its release on Panini’s website for $10,000. This marks the sixth highest price paid for a Clark card.”
This isn’t the first time Clark’s trading cards have fetched high prices.
Earlier this year, a 2022 Bowman University Superfractor Caitlin Clark Rookie Auto card sold for over $75,000, setting a record for a women’s basketball card and becoming the second-highest selling card behind only a card of legendary tennis player Serena Williams, according to Bleacher Report.
Clark’s impact continues to grow as she transitions from collegiate to professional basketball, demonstrating her ability to dominate the sport in more ways than one.
