WNBA star Diana Taurasi has responded to the criticism she has received following her controversial comments about then-Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark on the “Scott Van Pelt Show.”
Earlier in April, Taurasi sent a warning to Clark about playing in the WNBA.
Clark will be making her WNBA debut in May after being drafted first overall by the Indiana Fever in April’s WNBA draft.

A ten-time WNBA All-Star, the legendary Taurasi has played her entire career with the Phoenix Mercury since 2004.
Here’s what she had to say earlier this month about Clark playing in the WNBA.
“Diana Taurasi on Caitlin Clark coming to WNBA “Reality is coming….you look superhuman playing against some 18 years olds but you’re going to come play with some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time””
Taurasi received plenty of criticism as “a hater” for these comments.
Now she has offered some criticism of her own of “fans these days” following the criticism she received.
“The new fans are really sensitive these days. You can’t say anything,” Taurasi said, per Dana Scott of The Arizona Republic.
“It’s kind of like when you go from kindergarten to first grade there’s a learning adjustment; when you go from high school to college there’s a learning adjustment. I don’t think I said anything that wasn’t factually correct. Like anything, greatness is going to translate and [Clark has] proven that at every level. I don’t see it being any different in the WNBA.”

It will take place in Phoenix on Sunday, June 30 and can be seen on ESPN.
