Shortly after being selected by the Chicago Sky as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Angel Reese treated herself to a new Mercedes-Benz.
The former LSU All-American forward, a notable figure in the NIL era with a valuation of $1.8 million, proudly showcased her AMG G-Class SUV on Instagram.
Her luxury vehicle, adorned with Nappa leather red interior and black rims, commands a starting price of $183,000, according to Mercedes-Benz. Reese captioned her Instagram story with, “New city. New beginnings. New big body Barbie Benz,” and gave a shoutout to Champion Motoring in San Diego, California, known for catering to professional athletes.
This isn’t Reese’s first experience with a Mercedes-Benz; she previously partnered with Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge. Celebrating ahead of her 21st birthday in May 2023, she acquired her initial Benz, describing it as her dream car in a TikTok post where she is seen driving with her teacup Yorkie, Tiago, by her side.
Reese’s portfolio includes 17 NIL deals, as reported by Sponsor United in March 2023. Her endorsements span a wide range of brands, from ZOA Energy drink to Raising Cane’s, Coach, PlayStation, McDonald’s, Wingstop, Outback Steakhouse, and Amazon.
Her relationship with Mercedes-Benz began shortly after LSU won its first-ever women’s NCAA basketball title in 2023. This year, Reese and LSU were eliminated by Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Elite Eight. Clark, whose team fell to the South Carolina Gamecocks in the championship, was picked first overall by the Indiana Fever in this year’s draft.
As the WNBA gears up for the new season, training camps are set to open on April 28, with the regular season starting on May 14.
