Jason Kelce has offered an update regarding his missing 2018 Super Bowl ring, which he believes was accidentally discarded.
The incident occurred on April 11th during a live event in Cincinnati for the “New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce” podcast at the University of Cincinnati. The event featured a playful game where fans searched through a pool of Cincinnati-style chili for Jason’s Super Bowl ring, alongside several replicas.
Recapping the event on their April 17 podcast episode, Jason shared with his brother Travis that neither he nor the event staff could locate the ring after the event concluded.
Despite a subsequent search through the chili the next day, the ring remained missing. “We have still yet to find it,” Jason said, resigning himself to the likelihood that it ended up in a landfill somewhere in the Cincinnati Tri-State area.

In a later episode aired on April 24, guest comedian Andrew Santino commented on the unusual loss, prompting Travis to speculate that it might have been stolen.
Jason, however, clarified there was “some video evidence” indicating the ring’s last known location but later had to correct a misunderstanding on social media where it was reported he suggested the ring was stolen. Jason clarified on X (formerly known as Twitter), “This is incorrect, and not what I was saying. I do not think it was stolen,” suggesting instead that it was likely thrown out accidentally during cleanup.
Responding to a user who suggested he should start a new career calling out incorrect articles, Jason humorously declined, noting, “That’s way too busy of a job to take on.”
Jason initially speculated that the sock containing his ring might have been accidentally kicked aside and thrown out. He has since reported the loss to his insurance company, though he humorously acknowledged that the insurer might have reservations about the claim given the circumstances of the loss.
Jason Kelce, who retired from the NFL on March 4 after 13 seasons, played a pivotal role in leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots in 2018, making the lost ring a particularly significant and sentimental item.
