Jason Whitlock is never afraid to speak his mind.
The conservative and controversial sports host is stirring the pot once again with recent comments about former LSU basketball star and current Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese at the WNBA draft.
Jason Whitlock’s comments regarding Angel Reese’s impact on the success of the recent WNBA Draft have stirred controversy, as he attributed the event’s success to Reese’s embrace of her feminine and sexy side as an athlete.
Reese, a 21-year-old standout who was drafted by the Chicago Sky, garnered attention for her promising future in the WNBA, showcasing her talents during her college basketball career at LSU.
However, Reese’s journey has not been without challenges.

Following LSU’s exit from the NCAA tournament in early April, Reese tearfully addressed the media, revealing that she had faced sexualization and received death threats.
Whitlock’s remarks, while perhaps well-intentioned, have been met with criticism for oversimplifying Reese’s significance and reducing her accomplishments to her appearance.
“Last week, the WNBA Draft was a marvelous success where the overwhelming majority of those women presented themselves as women. They were as attractive as tall women could possibly be that are athletic as them,” Whitlock said.
Whitlock continued,
“To me, that’s a credit to Angel Reese. She has gone overboard with it, but she has made it cool to lean into the feminine, sexy side of being an athlete.”
It should be noted that Whitlock seemingly wasn’t only referring to Reese with his “as attractive as tall women could possibly be” comment, but Reese was the main focus.
Reese’s LSU Tigers were defeated by Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes in the Elite Eight in this year’s NCAA tournament.
Following the game, Reese opened up on her personal struggles to the media.
“I just try to stay strong… I’ve been attacked so many times. Death threats, I’ve been sexualized, I’ve been threatened.
All this has happened since I won the national championship & I haven’t been happy since then.”
