Sports media personality Stephen A. Smith made an appearance on Fox News’ “Sean Hannity Show” Thursday night and drew some criticism for controversial comments he made about Donald Trump and black Americans.
Here’s the specific commentary which drew criticism:
“Black folks find him relatable because of what he is going through is similar to what Black Americans have gone through, he wasn’t lying. He was telling the truth.”

Those comments stirred the pot a little bit with some outrage on social media directed at Smith.
Following that, Smith posted a nearly 18-minute-long video Friday night defending his comments which did not do anything to impress the critics.
He captioned the video, “On Donald Trump and black people outrage” and started it off by saying, “Let me get to some of y’all annoying a**es.”
Social media didn’t hold back in the replies.
Needless to say, this is a pretty divisive topic and it’s not surprising that Smith is getting such blowback over this on social media.
However, it does show that Smith is continuing to try and expand his reach beyond just the sports world and captivate an entirely new audience.
