A Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, Kristen Louelle Gaffney, who is married to former New England Patriots running back Tyler Gaffney, is relocating her family from California to Tennessee following a campaign initiated by Los Angeles’ mayor, urging the wealthy to contribute to housing solutions for the homeless population.
Expressing frustration over the allocation of tax dollars that seemingly fail to address the housing crisis effectively, Gaffney stated her refusal to support Mayor Karen Bass’ “LA4LA” program, launched recently.

She emphasized her perception that Californian residents already contribute substantially without witnessing tangible improvements.
“I quite frankly feel a little bit taken advantage of when I, too, have had to struggle and to create my own opportunities through hard work and education,” Gaffney told Fox.
“Why should somebody have a piece of my hard work?”

Gaffney, a mother of three, criticized Governor Gavin Newsom and President Joe Biden for exacerbating the situation.
Despite the $3.3 billion allocated for housing and homelessness programs in California’s 2023-24 budget, Gaffney remains skeptical about the effectiveness of these funds, citing the distressing scenes of homelessness in Los Angeles.
“The more we claim, and I use the word claim very strongly, that we’re helping these people, it seems like the situation is getting worse,” she added.
“You’ve taken enough from us, and you’re only showing me that it’s getting worse.”
‘LA homelessness, there’s nothing like it. I’ve been on the East Coast, I’ve been on the West Coast, I’ve been in the Bay Area. This is the dirtiest I’ve seen our cities.”
Recent footage depicting homeless encampments along busy freeways, complete with makeshift homes and basic amenities, underscored the severity of the crisis for Gaffney.
She questioned the continued expectation for residents to contribute while advocating for prioritizing housing for single-parent families, veterans, and the elderly.
“We’re constantly giving,’ Gaffney said. ‘What more do you want from us?”
“Drug addicts should be last on the list,” she said. “We should be focusing on the people that need help. Yes, but let’s create more opportunities and less systems that are hand out systems that people are absolutely taking advantage of.”
“How can we create opportunities for these, specifically, single women raising children?”
As for Kristen’s husband, Tyler, he was a former star running back at Stanford who played for the New England Patriots from 2014 to 2016 and Jacksonville Jaguars in 2017.
