Taylor Swift’s upcoming album, “The Tortured Poet’s Department,” purportedly leaked before its official release this Friday, and fans are buzzing about one track in particular that they believe could be about Travis Kelce.
The song in question, titled “The Alchemy,” allegedly includes lyrics about touchdowns, teams, warming benches, winning streaks, trophies, cheers, and claims of being the greatest in the league. These references have led many to speculate on social media that the song is about the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who celebrated a Super Bowl win in February 2024.
“Omg is the alchemy about Travis,” one fan tweeted on X, while another added, “Oh the alchemy is so about Travis.” Another comment read, “The references to American football … welcome to your first song, Travis.”

An interesting line from “The Alchemy” mentions “beer sticking to the floor,” possibly alluding to Kelce, known for his beer celebrations. This ties back to when Swift was seen enjoying a beer during Kelce’s championship game at Allegiant Stadium. Additionally, Kelce and his brother, Jason, were seen chugging beers at a recent University of Cincinnati event, further connecting the dots.
Another lyric about shirts being “off” could be a nod to an incident when Jason Kelce took his shirt off at a game Swift attended in January. The song seems to weave in elements of their personal experiences, suggesting a deep connection between Swift and her beau.
The relationship between Swift and Kelce has captured public attention since they began dating last summer and went public in September 2023. Since then, they have been seen supporting each other at various events, with Swift attending many of Kelce’s games and the NFL star showing up at several stops on Swift’s Eras Tour.
Reports also surfaced back in January that Kelce might be planning to propose to Swift as soon as this summer, adding more anticipation around their relationship.
Fans also believe the album addresses Swift’s past relationships, including her breakup with Joe Alwyn and a brief fling with Matty Healy from The 1975.
“The Tortured Poet’s Department” is set to officially release on April 19, adding another chapter to Swift’s storied musical career.
