As the 49ers prepare for their mandatory minicamp from June 4 to 6, marking the end of their offseason program, they look ahead to a break before reconvening for training camp in late July at their Santa Clara facilities.
During this interim, quarterbacks typically arrange extra practice sessions with their receivers to strengthen team chemistry in preparation for the demanding training camp schedule. However, Purdy has been unable to participate in these sessions for the past two years due to his status as the last overall pick in the 2022 draft and a subsequent recovery from offseason surgery on his throwing arm last year.
This year, however, Purdy is healthy and leading the 49ers’ quarterback depth chart, following a standout 2023 season where he set a franchise record with 4,280 passing yards and led the team to the Super Bowl.
His revelation about saving the reporter adds an unexpected highlight to his offseason activities.
