This weekend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce sparked conversation by liking an Instagram photo that included Donald Trump.
The photo was posted by former ESPN anchor Sage Steele, who celebrated her first live UFC event, a post which also featured Trump.
Steele’s caption expressed her excitement: “What. A. Night. After years of covering @ufc at ESPN, I FINALLY got to see it live & in person. Game changer. THANK YOU @danawhite … for EVERYTHING! Great people, great event, great fights! (Check out the last video – it’s the final minute of the main card fight .. so intense!!!).”
Fans of Taylor Swift, who Kelce is currently dating, have been vocal on social media about his action. Discussions pointed out that the image not only featured Trump but also conservative commentator Candace Owens, adding layers to the intrigue.

Comments from Swift’s fans included speculation and disappointment, with one noting, “Actually the full picture also has Candace Owens there. Truly interesting to say the least that he likes this but not Taylor’s posts on Instagram,” while another questioned the control over Kelce’s account: “When he unlikes the photo and suddenly we have ‘source’ (Taylor’s PR team) that says the account isn’t ran by Travis or he doesn’t look while scrolling through his feed.”
Another fan expressed embarrassment: “I keep saying this but how is she not embarrassed by him?” The sentiment was echoed by another, “The sighed I just sighed. Unsurprising given how Travis seems but still disappointing.”
Though it’s just a moment on social media, such actions are often magnified given the profiles of the individuals involved.
