During a “surprise commencement” ceremony at the University of Cincinnati on April 11, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce subtly paid tribute to his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
At the event, where Travis and his brother Jason Kelce received their college diplomas, Travis wore a beaded bracelet similar to those exchanged by fans at Swift’s Eras Tour concerts.
Both brothers had previously graduated from the university — Travis with a degree in interdisciplinary studies in 2022, and Jason with a marketing degree — but had not attended their ceremonies. At this recent celebration, an Instagram post by the Cincinnati Bearcats captured Travis speaking into a microphone, surrounded by red and white confetti. On his wrist, he sported several bracelets, including one that resembled the friendship bracelets from Swift’s tour, featuring letter beads whose message was not discernible.
This was not Travis’s first time embracing the Eras Tour bracelet trend.
Before officially dating Swift, he crafted a DIY bracelet for her. In February 2024, he wore multiple friendship bracelets while attending her concert in Sydney, Australia, a moment captured in a video where he was seen enjoying the performance from the VIP section.
Travis also wore similar beaded bracelets at his brother’s NFL retirement press conference on March 4th, including one spelling out “Kelce.”
Travis and Swift, who went public with their relationship in September 2023, have been supportive of each other’s professional endeavors. Swift was present at several of Travis’s games during the past NFL season, including the Super Bowl. The couple plans to travel together in Europe as Swift continues the Eras Tour, looking forward to spending the summer together as she performs across the continent.
