More lies surrounding Shohei Ohtani?
Superstar Shohei Ohtani recently slammed his first home run since joining the Los Angeles Dodgers this offseason with a record-breaking $700 million contract.
His inaugural homer as a Dodger occurred during Wednesday night’s triumph over their rivals, the San Francisco Giants.

Ohtani reportedly talked with long-time Dodgers fan Ambar Roman who caught the ball as Ohtani exchanged it for an underwhelming package.
“I was able to talk to the fan, and was able to get it back,” Ohtani said through interpreter Will Ireton. “Obviously it’s a very special ball, a lot of feelings toward it, I’m very grateful that it’s back.”
However, according to Sam Blum who is a writer for The Athletic, Ohtani never met the fan.
“Another important element of this story: Shohei Ohtani said (via interpreter Will Ireton) that he met with the fan who caught the ball. “I was able to talk to the fan, and was able to get it back.”
Ohtani never met the fan.”
It is in fact a strange element of the story, but could possibly be explained as Ireton is a new interpreter for Ohtani and there may have been a translation issue.
However, there does seem to be a lot of shady activity with this transaction as Roman also claimed that the Dodgers separated her from her husband and used “high-pressure’ tactics to execute the exchange.
