Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley wasted no time in getting to know each other better.
They spent the weekend training together as OTAs loomed on the horizon. Their camaraderie comes as no surprise, given that they are now teammates. Barkley, who spent the last six seasons with the New York Giants, will no longer be Hurts’ opponent but his ally on the field.
Barkley’s addition to the Eagles’ roster brings a new dynamic as their starting running back, a role he’s more than capable of fulfilling with his track record of rushing for over 1,000 yards in a season, a feat he achieved three times in his first six seasons.

While he fell just short of the 1,000-yard mark this past season, Barkley still made a significant impact with 247 carries for 962 yards and six touchdowns. Additionally, he contributed 41 receptions for 280 yards and four receiving touchdowns.
Now, Barkley aims to seek redemption against his former team, the Giants, twice a year for the next three seasons. His commitment to the Eagles was solidified with a three-year, $37.75 million contract signed at the onset of free agency, which included $26 million guaranteed at signing.
After concluding the 2023 season with an 11-7 record, the Eagles are gearing up for the challenges ahead, building upon their performance despite their wild-card round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
