Actor Jason Sudeikis made a surprise appearance at the NCAA women’s Elite Eight showdown between Iowa and LSU.
The renowned Ted Lasso star was spotted in the crowd at Times Union Center in Albany, New York. alongside friends.
Sudeikis passionately cheered for the Lady Hawkeyes, even mimicking Angel Reese’s famous “you can’t see me” celebration directed at Caitlin Clark from last year’s title game.
This gesture, reminiscent of John Cena’s signature move from his WWE days, drew attention, especially as it humorously trolled LSU after Iowa’s 94-87 victory over the defending NCAA tournament champions.
Sudeikis is not an alumnus of the University of Iowa, but he did attend Fort Scott Community College on a basketball scholarship which is about a six-hour drive southwest of the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
Sudeikis left the school before graduating.
As for the game, Iowa’s Caitlin Clark was dominant as she scored 41 points and dished out 12 assists while LSU’s Angel Reese scored 17 points and grabbed 20 rebounds.
Clark and the Hawkeyes will play the Uconn Huskies in the Final Four of the NCAA Women’s basketball tournament with the winner of that game taking on the winner of the South Carolina and North Carolina State game in the National Championship.
