LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese had an emotional press conference following LSU’s loss to Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Women’s Basketball tournament.
In a highly anticipated match-up, the Hawkeyes defeated LSU 94-87 as Clark led all scorers with 41 points.
Reese, who had 17 points and 20 rebounds in the game, was emotional during her post-game press conference and made a startling revelation that she “hasn’t been happy” since LSU won the National Championship last year because of all the “hate” she has received.

“I just try to stay strong… I’ve been attacked so many times. Death threats, I’ve been sexualized, I’ve been threatened.
All this has happened since I won the national championship & I haven’t been happy since then.”
Following the startling revelation, Reese proclaimed that she “wouldn’t change anything” and will stay “true to who she is.”
Reese’s actions on-and-off the court draw plenty of scrutiny among those on social media and within the media, and it sounds like it has taken its toll on Reese.
Reese will end her LSU basketball career as one of the all-time greats being named the 2023 NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player when the Tigers won the National Championship and the SEC Player of the Year this season.
The 21-year-old was also a unanimous All-American in 2023.
As for Clark and the Hawkeyes, they will take on the winner of UCONN and USC in the Final Four.
