Hurley’s UConn Huskies delivered a resounding 82-52 victory over San Diego State in their Sweet 16 matchup of the NCAA Tournament at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. Although the game initially hung in the balance for about six minutes, the Huskies eventually surged ahead and never looked back.
As the intense game unfolded, TBS frequently captured shots of Andrea Hurley, Dan’s wife, on television screens. Despite being engrossed in coaching duties, Dan managed to jest about the situation in his postgame interview with Andy Katz.

“My wife Andrea, who never seems to get enough TV time, by the way. It’s always others,” Hurley quipped, acknowledging the camera’s frequent focus on his spouse.
Continuing with his lighthearted banter, Hurley joked that Andrea would need to ensure his lucky underwear was washed and ready for the team’s upcoming Elite Eight game on Saturday.
“She’s got to get the hand-washer going to get these dragon underwear clean for a quick turnaround.”
Hurley’s reputation for superstition precedes him, as he even travels with a portable washer to attend to his laundry needs, particularly for his cherished lucky underwear.
