The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly looking to add a veteran to their backfield.
With the departure of Tony Pollard, the Cowboys are thin at running back with Rico Dowdle and Deuce Vaughn listed as starter and second-string respectively.
Now, the Dallas Morning News is reporting that the Cowboys are reportedly interested in signing either running back Dalvin Cook, formerly of the New York Jets, or Ezekiel Elliott, formerly of the New England Patriots.
Elliott of course has spent the majority of his career as the Cowboys lead running back from 2016 to 2022.

Cook spent his first season with the New York Jets in 2023 following five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. Cook was a Pro Bowler in four of those seasons.
However, Cook’s time with the Jets was extremely uneventful as he ran for just 214 yards over 15 games and was released this offseason.
Elliott may make more sense for the Cowboys as he did have some productive games in his first season with the Patriots when starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson went down with an injury.
Elliott was a three-time Pro Bowler with the Cowboys and had 642 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in 15 games for the Patriots in 2023.
