Quarterback Baker Mayfield has officially rejoined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and general manager Jason Licht made no effort to conceal the reason behind the decision.
During a media briefing on Wednesday, Licht commended Mayfield for his role in setting the tone for the team’s offense. In an unusual twist, Licht also praised Mayfield for possessing a unique personality trait.
“He set the tone for this team with his, for lack of a better word, he’s probably, a one out of ten, he’s a ten on the pr— scale,” Licht said.

Mayfield appeared unfazed by the remark, responding, “Thank you. I’ll take that.”
Licht’s admiration for Mayfield is evident. Earlier in the season, he had openly discussed why the quarterback swiftly endeared himself to his teammates. Ultimately, Mayfield’s on-field performance speaks volumes, having surpassed 4,000 passing yards and securing his first Pro Bowl appearance.
With Mayfield firmly established as the Buccaneers’ starting quarterback for 2024, his tenure could extend beyond that as long as he continues to deliver on the field.
