Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson has recently been at the center of trade speculations as he approaches the final year of his rookie contract.
However, reports from Dianna Russini and Alec Lewis of The Athletic indicate that the Vikings have no intention of parting ways with the 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
Russini shared insights on Twitter, stating, “The Vikings came close to extending WR Justin Jefferson last offseason. In Indy, GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah aggressively rejected the idea of trading the star. Kirk Cousins’ departure hasn’t changed things. The Vikings have no plans to trade Jefferson, sources tell me and @alec_lewis,”

Despite Jefferson being limited to 10 games in the 2023 season due to injuries, he continued to showcase his talent by surpassing the 1,000-yard mark for the fourth consecutive professional season.
In his previous campaign, Jefferson led the NFL in both receptions (128) and receiving yards (1,809). Throughout his 60 regular-season career games, he has amassed 392 receptions, 5,899 yards, and 30 touchdowns.
As the Vikings navigate through a quarterback transition with the departure of Kirk Cousins, the team’s depth chart currently features veteran free agent signing Sam Darnold, journeyman Nick Mullens, and 2023 fifth-round pick Jaren Hall. Despite uncertainties at the quarterback position and intriguing social media activity from Jefferson’s peers, such as Ja’Marr Chase, it appears the Vikings are steadfast in retaining their top offensive asset.
However, the offseason remains fluid, leaving room for potential developments as it progresses.
