John Cena wasn’t naked after all.
At the 2024 Oscars on Sunday, John Cena turned heads with his attire while presenting an award. Sporting a beige modesty garment, the WWE star ensured his private parts were discreetly covered during his appearance on stage.
A backstage photo from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood revealed Cena wearing a pale piece of underwear-shaped fabric, strategically covering his buttocks. The strapless brief extended underneath and around to the front, concealing his crotch area as well.
Despite the unconventional attire, Cena exuded confidence as he engaged in conversation with one of the show’s producers, seemingly unfazed by the minimalistic cover-up.

Cena’s unexpected entrance onto the Academy Awards stage garnered attention, as he sported only a pair of Birkenstocks on his feet and an envelope positioned over his groin area. This impromptu act came in response to host Jimmy Kimmel recalling a streaker incident from the Oscars 50 years ago in 1974.
Initially hesitant about participating in the streaker bit, Cena emerged from the side of the stage at Kimmel’s coaxing, albeit with reservations about the idea’s appropriateness for the prestigious event. Eventually, Cena made his way to the front of the stage, holding the envelope strategically to maintain his modesty.
Ironically, Cena presented the award for best costume design, emphasizing the importance of costumes in show business. Amidst some lighthearted struggles to open the envelope without any wardrobe malfunctions, Cena and Kimmel announced Holly Waddington as the winner for “Poor Things” costume design.
As the segment unfolded, producers rushed to Cena’s aid, draping him in a gold toga to ensure his modesty was preserved, as captured in a behind-the-scenes video shared on X. Despite the unconventional presentation, Cena’s participation added a memorable moment to the Oscars ceremony.
