Josh Jacobs is sending messages.
The Las Vegas Raiders’ standout running back, Josh Jacobs, used Twitter to share a cryptic message regarding his ongoing contract dispute with the team.
Before the start of the free agency, the Raiders placed the franchise tag on Jacobs, the reigning rushing champion. The deadline for reaching an agreement on a long-term deal is July 17. Failure to do so would mean Jacobs would play in the 2023 season under the franchise tag and could enter free agency after the next season. In light of the current situation, Jacobs tweeted that he is fighting not just for himself but also for future NFL running backs.

NFL running backs have had a challenging offseason, with four-time 1,000-yard rusher Dalvin Cook recently released by the Minnesota Vikings in a move to save expenses.
Dallas Cowboys’ two-time rushing champion, Ezekiel Elliott, was let go in March, and yet he remains unsigned. In such circumstances, Jacobs’ concern for his fellow players is natural since top running backs such as himself, Cook, Derrick Henry, Nick Chubb, and Christian McCaffrey are among the most significant game-changers in the NFL.

Last season, Jacobs topped the league in rushing yards with 1,653 and displayed his best performance as a pass-catcher recording 53 receptions for 400 yards.
