Life after Belichick seems lovely.
Bill Belichick’s legendary coaching career has long been associated with the ethos of “Do Your Job” and his reputation as a no-nonsense, tough-minded leader.
As the New England Patriots prepare for a new chapter under coach Jerod Mayo next season, player personnel executive Eliot Wolf didn’t hesitate to acknowledge the forthcoming changes in Foxborough, taking a subtle jab at the culture Belichick cultivated, which played a significant role in the franchise’s six Super Bowl victories.

“[It] will be less of a hard-ass vibe,” Wolf told the media at the NFL combine on Tuesday.
While it’s one thing to indicate a shift in culture, the true test lies in its implementation once the players return to the facility. Wolf didn’t shy away from this reality, acknowledging, “It’s easy to say the culture has changed, but there are no players here right now, so we’ll see if the culture has changed.”
Certainly, Foxborough will have a different atmosphere next season as the Patriots usher in a new era with their first coaching change in over two decades. However, Wolf expressed confidence in Mayo’s leadership qualities, believing he possesses the necessary attributes to excel as a head coach.
“We have tremendous leadership with Jerod Mayo. He is an exceptional leader and mentor, and I believe that as we transition to new offensive and defensive schemes, it will bring something special and exciting to the team,” Wolf emphasized.
With the No. 3 pick in the upcoming draft in April, New England has a valuable opportunity to kickstart this new era of Patriots football.
