Taking a moment to realize that comparing Patrick Mahomes to Tom Brady is like comparing apples to oranges at this stage. Tom secured seven championships over his 23-season career, while Patrcick Mahomes has three in just seven years.
There are a couple of key points to consider. These two definitely belong in the same discussion, but it’s not quite time for a definitive comparison yet. Well, technically, we can engage in it—as long as everyone brings the same level of intensity as Shannon Sharpe did on First Take this morning.
Picture Sharpe dialed things up, wagging an enormous finger in Stephen A. Smith’s face, and rebuking him for any inconsistency in his intellectual discourse across topics. Some might argue it was wholly unnecessary, while others might find amusement in the intensity of it all.

It appears they quickly smoothed things over and moved on to other matters, which seems absurd considering the heated and confrontational tone just moments before.
We may have another decade of dissecting this Brady-Mahomes saga ahead of us. Keep some ammunition ready for when the dynamics inevitably shift.
But Mahomes definitely took one step closer to being the GOAT of NFL QB’s.
