Jim Harbaugh is set to meet with the Los Angeles Chargers this week for discussions about their head-coaching vacancy, marking his second meeting with the team this month. According to Michigan insider Chris Balas, Harbaugh’s wife, Sarah, accompanied him on the trip to Los Angeles for the interview.
While the outcome of the meeting remains uncertain, many in the NFL community view this development as a potential sign that Harbaugh could officially join the Chargers.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Chargers have identified Harbaugh as their top choice for the head-coaching position.
“He’s met with two teams. He’s met with the Chargers and he’s met with the Falcons,” said Schefter. “Now, the Chargers are a team that, to me, has identified him, and I think he’s right near, if not, at the top of their list.”
The possibility of Harbaugh returning to Michigan cannot be ruled out, as the athletic department is likely making efforts to retain him. However, if the Chargers are to secure Harbaugh as their head coach, they will need to make a compelling case during this week’s meeting.
The fact that Harbaugh brought his wife to the meeting with the Los Angeles Chargers is a positive sign, suggesting that he is genuinely contemplating accepting the job. Bringing one’s spouse to a job interview is typically a strong indicator of serious interest and commitment to the position.
