Rob Gronkowski, one of the NFL’s most physical tight ends in history, is supporting a proposed bill aiming to prohibit tackle football for children aged 12 and younger. The legendary tight end expressed his endorsement of the bill in an interview with Fox Business.
Gronkowski, speaking on Fox Business Network, stated, “I think it’s a fair proposal, and I’m for it. I love the game of football, and I love that these kids want to play the game of football. But to play the game of football at such a young age, I think, is a little dangerous.”
While the proposed law is still pending, Gronkowski advocates for promoting flag football as an alternative for young players. He emphasized the benefits of flag football, suggesting it allows children to enjoy and learn the game while developing essential skills.
Gronkowski shared, “Flag football is fun to play. I loved playing flag when I was growing up. To have flag football for kids under 12, I think, is an excellent idea, and I think they shouldn’t be playing tackle football or the real game of football until about seventh grade.”

While Gronkowski’s stance aligns with others advocating for safer alternatives, his perspective, coming from a former NFL star, adds notable weight to the discussion.
