This Lions fan has been waiting a long time to see a Lions playoff victory.
Larry Benjamin, 83, is a lifelong Detroit Lions fan currently in hospice care. Just like Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, Benjamin decided to dye his hair “Honolulu blue” to support his team.

St. Brown even gave a salute to Benjamin on X with some emojis.
Benjamin, a Saginaw native, suffers from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). The prognosis given to him by doctors of having three to five years to live upon diagnosis is nearing.
Benjamin is keeping a positive outlook and enjoying the success his Lions have had this season,
“I’ve had a really good life,” says Benjamin, who is resting in a hospital bed in his Saginaw Township home.
“So I tell everybody I am living on borrowed time, and I’m going to do everything I can to enjoy these remaining days,” he says.
“I didn’t know if I was going to make it to the next game,” Larry says about his health on certain days.
Benjamin looks forward to cheering on the Lions as they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday for a chance to go to the NFC Championship.
