The playoff clash between the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night is poised to take place in extremely harsh weather conditions.
The National Weather Service issued a chilling forecast, indicating that the wind chill in Kansas City will plummet to -30 degrees on Saturday night, categorizing it as “dangerously cold.” The brutal conditions are exacerbated by wind gusts reaching near 30 mph at Arrowhead Stadium.
As it stands, the Dolphins-Chiefs game is heading towards becoming one of the coldest matchups in league history. Despite this, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid attempted to downplay the impact of the weather on Saturday’s game earlier in the week.

Reid remarked, “I don’t think you bank on all that. That’s where you get into trouble. Guys are pretty resilient. And so you get yourself ready. And if it works out that way for you or whatever. I don’t know how to quantify that. You know, so I just say get ready for the game. Let’s do that. I don’t really care what goes on out here. We’re not having a snowball fight.”
If the kickoff indeed feels like -27 degrees, both teams will face an immense challenge dealing with the freezing conditions. The kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on Peacock.
