Following Michigan’s National Championship win on Monday night, head coach Jim Harbaugh is set to fulfill a promise to his players by getting his first tattoo.
Earlier in the season, Harbaugh committed to getting inked if the team achieved a perfect 15-0 record, and he intends to stick to his word. While he has no prior tattoos, he has already planned the placement.
Harbaugh revealed:
“I said that I would get a tattoo. I have no ink on my body. No tattoos anywhere, but I did say that to our players. I said if we go 15-0, I’m getting a tattoo, it’s 15-0. I’m going to put it on my shoulder, I don’t know if it’s my left or right yet. I’m a right-handed quarterback, I’ll probably get it on my right,” Harbaugh said, via Saturday Tradition.

The only decision left is the design of the tattoo. Options include incorporating the 15-0 record with a championship theme or featuring the Michigan logo alongside the record. Harbaugh, known for his commitment to following through on promises, is poised to embrace the experience of getting inked for the first time.
Despite getting a tattoo at his age being relatively uncommon, Harbaugh remains true to his word, reinforcing his reputation for honoring commitments.
