The National Football League has reportedly determined the consequences for Brad Allen’s officiating crew following the controversial moments in Saturday night’s Cowboys vs. Lions game.
The officiating crew, led by Brad Allen, made a critical penalty call on the Lions’ potential go-ahead two-point conversion in the late stages of the fourth quarter. The Lions’ players and coaches strongly believe that the referees made a mistake in their decision.

In response to widespread calls from NFL fans for stringent repercussions for Allen and his crew, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter has reported that the experienced official and his crew are anticipated to be excluded from the 2024 NFL Playoffs.
“Brad Allen’s referee crew is expected to be downgraded and out for the 2024 NFL Playoffs.”
Allen’s officiating crew has been under scrutiny for multiple controversial calls throughout the year.
While the demotion out of the playoffs signifies a form of punishment, the question remains whether it is sufficient given the gravity of the situation. Notably, both the Lions and the Cowboys have already secured playoff spots, making the postseason fate of the officiating crew a matter of procedural discipline rather than affecting the playoff contention of the involved teams.
