This week authorities in the Dominican Republic conducted raids on two residences in their search for Wander Franco, as reported by Listin Diario, a local media outlet.
The Santo Domingo Prosecutor’s Office for Children and Adolescents spearheaded the operation in the areas of Palo Blanco and Villa Real, attempting to locate Franco. However, the professional baseball player was not found during the raids.

Franco is currently under investigation in the Dominican Republic in connection to allegations involving an inappropriate relationship with a minor.
Following the public revelation of these allegations, he was placed on paid administrative leave from Major League Baseball (MLB), with his last game played on August 12.
Hailing from Bani in the Dominican Republic, the 22-year-old shortstop made his MLB debut with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2021 and earned his first All-Star selection during the recent offseason. Over the span of his relatively short MLB career, Franco has achieved a batting average of .282 with a .795 OPS, along with 30 home runs and 40 stolen bases, accumulating these statistics across 265 games over three seasons.
