Aaron Rodgers may be donning a different shade of green these days, but that doesn’t mean he’s completely shed his Packer allegiance. On this week’s “Pat McAfee Show,” during the segment known as “Aaron Rodgers Tuesday,” the seasoned quarterback shared his thoughts on the Lions securing the NFC North title.
While acknowledging Detroit’s success, Rodgers expressed a lingering loyalty to the green and gold of the Packers.

In a mix of sentiments, Rodgers stated, “Um, I’m not happy. Although I’m in New York, I still want the green and gold to take the North every year. But they’ve got a good football team, Jared’s had a really nice season. Obviously [Amon-Ra] St. Brown is a fantastic receiver … two really good backs … line’s really good on both sides of the ball, defense has been playing good. … I think the NFC’s really deep.”
The Lions clinched their first division title since the 1993 season with a 30-24 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Eve. While many celebrate Detroit’s breakthrough, Rodgers, with his Packer roots, expressed a mix of emotions, showcasing that loyalty to a team often runs deep.
It’s evident that Rodgers would be significantly more displeased if the Bears clinched the NFC North, given that he tormented Bears fans for numerous years in his tenure with Green Bay.
