Quarterback Gardner Minshew criticized the Indianapolis Colts for displaying concerning behavior in the aftermath of their defeat to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Despite the Colts entering the game with a strong record of five wins in the last six matches, they suffered a disheartening 29-10 loss to the struggling Falcons. Minshew implied that the Colts may have underestimated their opponents, failing to take them seriously.

In expressing his viewpoint, Minshew stated, as reported by Stephen Holder of ESPN, “You start counting wins and you start doing schedule math and you look around, it’s like, ‘Well, they lost to Carolina; we beat the Steelers.’ Well, you know what? You gotta go earn it right now. And if you take this lightly, you might not end up with another [chance].”
Minshew’s observation suggests a worrisome mindset within the Colts, as he believes they might have assumed victory by merely showing up. This perspective is troubling, particularly considering the slim two-game difference in their respective records leading up to the game. Minshew emphasizes that the Colts cannot afford to overlook any opponent, given their current level of performance.
Reflecting on the Colts’ infamous collapse two years ago that cost them a playoff spot, Minshew draws attention to the need for introspection within the organization. Although the team and coaching staff have changed since then, he suggests that the underlying issue may still persist to some extent.
