The Los Angeles Rams find themselves embroiled in a lawsuit following a contentious incident during a recent game that allegedly left a security guard with a brain bleed.
According to TMZ, 71-year-old security guard Robert Leahey has initiated legal proceedings against the Los Angeles Rams. In his lawsuit, Leahey alleges that the NFL organization’s negligence played a role in the “catastrophic” injuries he sustained during a violent fan brawl at SoFi Stadium in the 2022 season.

The incident occurred in December 2022 during the Rams vs. Raiders “Thursday Night Football” game. A significant altercation erupted between fans of both teams inside the stadium, prompting Leahey to intervene in an effort to restore order. However, as outlined in the lawsuit, other guards allegedly pushed him, causing him to fall down a set of concrete stairs.
Leahey claims that during the fall, he hit his head multiple times. When he got back up, he alleges that someone involved in the brawl threw a Modelo beer can that struck his head, resulting in further injury. On December 9, Leahey sought medical attention at a nearby hospital, where he was diagnosed with severe and catastrophic brain injuries, including a subdural hematoma with brain bleeding.
Following the alleged assault, Leahey contends that he has struggled with speech and vision difficulties, along with persistent headaches, rendering him unable to work. Seeking unspecified damages for the physical and financial toll he claims to have endured, the security guard is taking legal action against the Rams.
As for the game on that day, the Rams emerged victorious with a score of 17-16.
